2009 has been a memorable year for the Manila Roosters. This is the year when the Roosters were born. The roosters have been playing together for almost 4 consecutive years, but they never really had a team name or a team to call their own. Thanks to MIHT, a group of players were forced to come up with a name and just try to play and have fun in Malaysia. Although some Filipino players were not keen with the Rooster name, the core group decided to stick with it.
For 2010, the Roosters are always optimistic that things would go along their way.
Rooster Goals for 2010:
1. Scout new recruits. 5 is the minimum target.
2. Increase level of attendance during pick-up games/ practices... by finding an alternative venue that will be affordable for every one..and etc.
3. Make week-day pick-up games possible.
4. Government accreditation --- PSC
5. FORMAL election of officers/ board
6. Minimize politics within the group
7. Increase level of play
8. To be able to implement the "buddy system"
9. Establish a core group (discuss who is in charge of logistics, trainings, international relations, local tournaments, pr and training of young blood )

On a lighter note, most of the Roosters are excited to go to Malaysia this coming February. Trainings are postponed for the holidays, but it will resume by Jan. 2010.
Let's gather all our efforts in salvaging the future of our beloved sport.
